Counting over 34 years of service in the banking industry, with both local and international exposure, Ayodhya Iddawela Perera is recognized as one of the outstanding personalities in the industry.

Starting her career at the entry level of Sampath Bank, a young and trailblazing bank, the journey continued in gaining experience covering all areas of banking, specializing in Corporate and International Banking and Credit Control which paved the way for her to become the versatile Business Leader she is today.

Ayodhya, a qualified professional banker possesses an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She was awarded the “Senior Fellowship” from the Institute of Bankers - Sri Lanka in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Sri Lankan Banking Industry. Ayodhya is an alumnus of Girls’ High School, Kandy.

As a value-driven business leader, Ayodhya firmly believes in teamwork and has over the years successfully upheld that culture within the Bank, which is one of the key strengths of Sampath Bank.

She holds is also a Director of Lanka Financial Services Bureau Ltd, a Governing Board Director of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, a member of the Board of Directors of Sri Lanka Bankers Association, Director of National Credit Guarantee Institution Limited, Director of the Lanka Pay (Pvt) Limited and a Director of Sampath Centre Ltd.

As the Managing Director of Sampath Bank, her vision is expanding the horizon of the banking industry in Sri Lanka as a key driver of the economy.
